Child Case Study 3G
Autism, Dietary Limitation, Sensory Issues, Sleep Issues, Speech Delay.
"By Day 30, happier. More attention & ability to observe what's happening around him. More willing to follow commands. He is able to express more his hunger. Much more articulation of his wants.
Learning to convey his frustration & anger.
Reading a book instead of running and jumping around at bedtime.
Sleep throughout the night is more consistent. No more broken sleep.
No more teethgrinding. Less snoring. Eyes fully shut while asleep now.
He is chewing better. For sure less of keeping food in his mouth.
Very good handgrip now. He initiates more feeding himself.
He has grown - definitely a bit taller.
Past 2 weeks, he has initiated to go potty by himself. He verbalises it.
Less struggle in showering. Ok with water running over his face.
More jovial. Less anxiety even going to school. No more whining. Great progress.
More emotionally-regulated. Expressive and responsive.
He has learnt how to communicate a little bit more. Less angry.
To hold his attention now is a much easier now than before.
Interacting a bit more with visitors. Smiles & likes to be around.
Much better eye contact now. Going into line of sight - big improvement.
Responding to his name. Responsive to instructions - definitely better than at beginning of the journey.
Definitely more in expressing something he's feeling rather than random. Making requests.
7
Quite a lot of improvement in verbal expression.
Consistent to express when he wants. Very good pronunciation. Faster to pick up vocabulary.
He is getting into trying to use more of his words, to say what he wants.
Another improvement: the love for books has increased.
He has moved from stacking & lining up things to flipping through a storybook.
I think koo energy Sleep Therapy is great - that's a good move. Just needing to keep the momentum.
It's a good experience. We are really happy that we did it. The benefits showed.
Very thorough, as usual - all the discussion & the questions. It helped to go through the before and the after, so that we remember. We can also appreciate what the changes are, and what other area to focus on."

Conclusion
"I think it's great - that's a good move. Good direction. Just needing to keep the momentum."
Consultant: How do you feel after 3 months of sleep therapy for your 3yo?
Mother: I think great - that is a good move. It is a good direction. Just needing to keep the momentum.
It has helped because we are more mindful. It is in the small micro habits, behaviours that we we will see a difference.
That may not be like overnight.
But the small mico-observation, from stools, sleep, eating habits.
And then the more complex ones - communication, emotion.
I think as a whole eco-system, the family is more mindful.
It is mindfulness. You need to celebrate the small wins, whever possible. It is setting expectations. This is where he is at. Let's move from there. I think we enjoy also expanding our muscles around this topic. Other than very tradition what the paediatrician say, if we do this, or this is the medicine you need, this is the avenue we as a family do. Because it is holistic. It is not just for him. It is actually the whole ecosystem, even the water.

"It's a good experience. We are really happy that we did it.
The benefits showed."
The benefits showed."
Father: For me, I think it's a good experience. We are really happy that we did it. The benefits showed. Beyond the benefits, what I like about it is it is less external. It is something that we do, in the comforts of our home. It is about really reenforcing the normal things we should be doing - eating well, sleeping well, drinking proper water. Because of that approach, it helps us get less confused about what is said to be 'cured', what are all the treatments we need to do.
I like the constant philosophy and the reminder: actually once this is cleared, you just go back and help the child learn as fast as he can, and bring out his personality. For me, that is very exciting and inspiring for me. Otherwise, we are also feeling you need to depend on experts, a lot of therapies or care. That may not also bring out him, as the real person.
That is something I like and I am believing about this experience.
Consultant: So has your expectation been met?
Father: YES!
Consultant: That's great!

"Very thorough, as usual - all the discussion & the questions.
It helped to go through the before and the after, so that we remember.
We can also appreciate what the changes are, and what other area to focus on. "

Father: Thank you Ms Lai. Very thorough as usual - the discussion and the questions.
I think it helped to go through the before and after, so that we remember. We can also appreciate what the changes are, what other area to focus on. Even the few points you talked about ALP - it is a good start to think about and to incorporate.

"A good move in the right direction. The family is more mindful. "
It is a good move in the right direction. Just needing to keep the momentum. It has helped. We are more mindful - microhabits that we will see a difference. Not overnight changes - observations from stools, sleep, eating habits, communication, emotion.
As a whole microsystem, the family is more mindful. We need to celebrate the small wins, wherever possible, setting expectations, This is where he is, moving from there.
We enjoyed expanding our muscles around this topic. Other than very traditional - what the paedietrician or the medicine says.
Because it is holistic, including the water too.
