Child Case Study 3B
Autism, Dietary Limitation, Speech Delay.
"Grinding teeth is something we do not see nor hear anymore. No more gigging in his sleep.
He is able to engage longer in activities. He is basically more alert, based on teacher's feedback as well.
When we call him his name once, he will turn to us and see what we want from him.
His speech has improved a lot. Better pronunciation. More accurate.
Certainly no regrets. Being a believer in this, we understand the logic behind and the theory of how it works. On top of that, of course seeing the before and after - that is again showing us we are seeing improvement certainly."

Still on diaper. Daily pass motion. Cannot wear his shirt, but can wear pants while sitting down. |
He is now more aware. He is still on diapers sometimes. When the diaper is wet, or he poops for example, he will straight away take out the diaper. |
He loves shower, but cannot tolerate brushing teeth. Last time, my helper and myself had to hold him tightly, in order to brush his teeth. |
He still enjoys showering. Brushing teeth, he is still a little bit sensitive. Once the toothbrush touches the lips or mouth, he will be ok. He will stand and let you brush. |
Stool - soft and hard, long and short. No sign of discomfort. Done on diapers. Timing not fixed. These days, it is after school. |
Poo 3 times today. Noon, afternoon and night. Color: brown, yellowish, yellowish The first one was sticky and dryer.nThe 2nd and 3rd were more watery. Day 31 Jayzer just passed motion. it was indeed very dark in colour. |

He is more aware. Even with strangers, he is still quite ok. Maybe he will not straight away mix with the person. But he is getting better. |
Last time, if grandparents touched him, he would be reluctant. |
This time, he even let grandma hold his hand and walk to a shop. |

After |
In the past, he would have difficulties or refuse to do table activities. |
But now, this is something normal to him. He is able to engage longer in activities, like do work or study or read books on the table. |
Last time, it would last for 1-2 minutes, and he would go away already. |
Now, definitely improved a lot. He will sit there and try to do. 5-10 minutes, even more than 10 minutes. |
Behaviour
Before |
After |
Last time after school, from 11.30am to 12 supposed to self care training for them. In the past, he would just sit there and watch TV, did nothing. He was not even aware that he was supposed to go home. |

Stubborn, rigid. |
Still a little bit rigid. Still stubborn, he wants it his way. |
Responsiveness

In the past, he might ask us to carry him away - withdrawal symptoms from the crowd. |
He will not be running away. He is still there. That is at least something that we see is good enough. |
He is verbal, good vocabulary but does not speak in context. He has echolalia. He is not trying to communicate. He just ignore. |
When I asked him, “What did you learn at the school today?” He could say, “Alphabet”. When I asked, “What letter? “ He said “the letter k.” |

Progress Timeline
Detoxification
"Blocked nose. Running Nose. Sensitive Nose. Cough from 3-5am."
Detoxification
Blocked nose heard from his breathing. When his nose is blocked, he cannot enjoy the pacifier, so he will take it out. Running nose is when we see his discharge.
More occurrences of running nose since Sleep Therapy. It has been happening almost every month. After a few weeks, the running nose will come back. Then he will be ok with no issue. Then it will come back again, like these few day. Sinus problems come and go.
With running nose, he always has a cough That is mainly because he does not know how to sneeze it out. He tends to suck it in. The moment he does that, it causes discomfort at throat, thus having a cough. Otherwise, it will be the cough after midnight 3 to 5, or 3 to 6 that period of time.

"Chest tightness"
He had chest tightness. Fast heartbeat but not now.
"Sort of metal smell urine, darker than usual."
Day 31
Photo 2: Yellowish diaper. His urine this afternoon after nap. Not his usual urine colour and smell. Never has this dark yellow urine.
Today though darker in colour but no strong smell. Few days ago urine was not as dark as today but there was strong kind of metal smell.
Metal smell of urine explained by mother: Sort of metal smell urine, darker than usual, darker than yellowish, light brown for 2-3 days.

"He farted a lot, very smelly, sometimes with sound, sometimes no sound."
He farted a lot, very smelly actually. sometimes with sound, sometimes no sound. Can happen anytime, definitely more just before passing motion. Fart more obvious compared to before Sleep Therapy, in terms of frequency. It was smelly back then, but now even stronger smell.
Daddy has less fart now than before.
Mummy has more fart now than before.
Daddy has less fart now than before.
Mummy has more fart now than before.
"Fever Episode. Still active, just a little quiet."
Normal 36.5°C but raised to 37.7°C. Check temperature every hour, evening enough water and rest. Still active, just a little quiet. Enjoying his toys, books, appetite still the same. Lasted for 2-3 days. No sponging. Temperature spiked up at night. Not too high. Standby patch, but not used as he was sensitive to touch, can only put on when he fell asleep, but will take if off once he woke up. So we just let him sleep well with Healing Mat no heat.
"Poor appetite during fever. Vomiting. Sneeze discharge."
Appetite poorer than usual, but he still managed to eat. He did not refuse food. He did not ask for milk.
Pre-fever symptom. Did he eat too much?
Poop can be soft, but not to the extent of watery. I have seen before a little bit yellowish.
When he sneezed, the discharge came out. But it is not frequent.

"Red lumps at the left side of the neck."
Day 37
2 lumps at the left side of J's neck. They were bigger and harder on Sat. Now smaller and softer.
Latest update:
Red lump goes off, that day I touched it - left with a small nodule. Left neck area. Similar area but very small size. More obvious at that time - bigger in size. Over time, it reduced to small. Perhaps it stayed till now, small sized nodule. I believe so. Forgot to check few weeks back. Last week, I touched and found a small nodule.

Brushing teeth, he is still a little bit sensitive. He is a little funny. Once the toothbrush touches the lips or mouth, he will be ok. He will stand and let you brush. He still does not like the toothbrush.
Before Sleep Therapy, as soon as he saw the toothbrush, he would resist straight away. A little improvement, not very great.
Last time, my helper and myself had to hold him tightly, in order to brush his teeth.

"His diaper is drier than usual. Cooperative in school."
His diaper drier than usual after a night. 50-50% tendency. At school, therapist will remove his diaper before changing into school uniform. On diaper in the afternoon nap. He is cooperative in school when it comes to going toilet to pee. Time to introduce toilet training.
"More aware of his soiled diapers. More sensitive."
He is now more aware. He is still on diapers sometimes. When the diaper is wet, or he poops for example, he will straight away take out the diaper. It is very terrible.
Temperament
"He is more aware. Even with strangers, he is still quite ok. "
TEMPERAMENT

He is able to engage longer in activities.
In the school, they are taught to have table activities, like do work or study or read books on the table.
In the past, he would have difficulties or refuse to do that. But now, this is something normal to him. Even at home, when I put a book, or his plate of food with bun on the table and ask him to come over, take the chair, sit on it, he will do it. Behaviour
"His eye contact is definitely a lot better. He will run to us and try to grab our attention, and talk to us."

Still a little bit rigid. Still stubborn, he wants it his way. I try to explain to him certain things. When a tool/laptop is turned on, if you do not touch the tool/laptop, it will say bye and automatically shut down. He will get angry.

- Stubborn, rigid.
- Shows interest at peers doing but he doesn’t know how to interact.
- Very observant, curious on what’s happening surrounds him
- Careful.

Responsiveness
"He is basically more alert, based on teacher’s feedback as well."
What we want is a change in his responsiveness but it is situation-appropriate. That voiced down to his awareness of the surrounding.
Yes, I would agree. We are seeing progress - he is progressing, there is improvement but certainly not optimum yet.
With reference to 4D, you might be calling/screaming, but he just kind of ignore. Seeing an improvement that he is now responding.
Over here, we get similar remarks from the teacher. Arousal - he is lacking in that.
But we do see improvement. Even the teacher said: from the day when we enrol him to the school at the beginning, comparing to now. He is giving response now, rather than in the early days he would not respond and he would ignore.
We started the Sleep Therapy, then we sent him to school one month later. I think he is basically more alert, based on teacher’s feedback as well.
Last time after school, from 11.30am to 12 supposed to self care training for them. They need to change their own shirt and trouser. They would sit down and watch tv while waiting for parents to pick them up.
Now, he will sit in front of the door, just waiting for mummy to pick him up, He will get ready, sit and wait - can’t wait to go home. In the past, he would just sit there and watch TV, did nothing. He was not even aware that he was supposed to go home. He knows the timing. More time-conscious. He can express. He shows us that he has expectations. He knows what is next.

Communication
"Now, at least we call him his name once, he will turn to us and see what we want from him."
Another improvement we observed: As and when we called his name in the past, we might call ten times, we got one time of response or reply. Now, at least we call him his name once, he will turn to us and see what we want from him.
Previously: He was responsive to mummy but not so for daddy because of less time spent with him.
I have seen improvement also. Another example, wave to people when you say bye. In the past, he would not. Now, he will wave (actively with the whole hand).

Body Language
"He is not running away, he is not trying to avoid. He is willing to do."
I brought him to a playground.
Clearly, he was observing other kids playing. The equipment for him to play. When we brought him closer to the rest of the kids, we see him. While observing the rest playing, what he is lacking of his ability to introduce himself or getting himself to join them.
At least, now if you tell him can you give him hi-five, or say hi to gorger (brother) a year older than him, bigger in size as well, he will do it.
When the boy responded after he did a hi-five, the moment he did the hi-five, he kept his hand. He is not running away, he is not trying to avoid. He is willing to do.
It could be that the boy gave the hi-five too hard. And he felt so painful on his hand.
He will not be running away. He is still there. That is at least something that we see is good enough.
In the past, he might ask us to carry him away - withdrawal symptoms from the crowd.

Verbal
"His speech improved a lot."
BEFORE
AFTER
Mother: Improved a lot.
Father: He still has the tendency. He still prefers to pull us to do what he wants us to do for him. For example, switching on TV/light or take something from cabinet.
What we do is before we follow, you have to address me and tell me what you want.
Sometimes, he remembers. For example, he says, “mummy, please” open cabinet/box. We have to prompt him to say, “please
Before we say the whole sentence “please c..”, he will complete the sentence "come with me”
Mother: When he wants him to open a box, he will say “daddy, please open.” He will say something like that.
Father: It is an improvement. In the past, he would not say anything. He would pull you and touch the box or things that he wanted.
Mother: He is more verbal now.
Father: But he needs us to prompt, so that we do not just follow him.
- He knows A to Z
- He usually pulls our hand to get what he wants, cannot express except ‘milk’.

"He has improved a lot, in terms of pronunciation. More accurate."
Better pronunciation in terms of more accurate, not perfect yet.
But at least, compared to last time, he has improved a lot, in terms of pronunciation.

"He likes to sing nowadays."
He likes to sing nowadays.
In terms of pitching, daddy wrote he is out of tone. Intention to send him for basic music class for young kids, playing an instrument. Could not due to Covid so just expose him at home.

Other Area of Observation
"He asks us to draw a lot of things for him."
I think still not that good yet, in terms of holding pen/pencil.
He likes people to draw things. He asks us to draw a lot of things for him.
He is not into drawing by himself.

"He can jump higher now. No more tiptoe."
He can jump higher now.
He is certainly more synchronised in his movement now.
Video of him running towards parent in the living room, tiptoeing signs observed, and his motor skills still not very steady.
No more tiptoe now. I do not see it now.

Conclusion
"No regrets. Seeing improvement. On the right track."
What is your view on Sleep Therapy? Any regrets?
Father: Certainly no regrets.
Being a believer in this, we understand the logic behind and the theory of how it works.
On top of that, of course seeing the before and after, as we have gone through in the past 4 hours, that is again showing us we are seeing improvement certainly.
Parents' intention 3 months ago:
We see that there are gaps. Comparing him with the kids around his age.Intention is to close the gap as much as possible. Ultimately, we want him to be able to go to mainstream school. We certainly would like to achieve it.
The intention with koo energy Sleep Therapy - we could treat the root as much as possible. We will not put the hope to treat it 100%. But at least help to narrow the gap as much as possible.
Any improvement in the direction?
Yes of course, I believe we are already on the right path.
It is a long way. As long as we are on the right path, and then we are making progress.
It is a matter of time how fast can we achieve the milestones. There are different milestones along the way.

"After Sleep Therapy kicked in. I felt slightly better, sleeping through the night." ~Mother
Mother's Progress
As the Secondary User sleeping a metre away from the child's baby cot.
On and off, I still have sensitive nose and blocked nose. I take quite a lot of milk, drinking fresh milk almost every day.
Mother’s Inflammatory Arthritis in the left eye
I did have one attack in March, one month after Sleep Therapy. Not sure how it happened. After finishing some, suddenly I felt my eye very sensitive to light. When I went to check my eye, it had turned entirely red already. I put eye drop to ease it. If not, I could not even open my eyes. Eye drop recommended by the Specialist. After it went off straight away.
No difference yet, in menstruation.
Previously: not restful sleep.
Lately not that good sleep again. It was getting better after Sleep Therapy kicked in. I felt slightly better, sleeping through the night. After that, feeling ok. But lately, not so. Could be work stress.
Whenever I did not get good sleep, I would get blurry vision.
In the past, dizziness was recorded for quite a long time already, even now to the extent of spinning.

"I get the odour, body smell of metal during the sleep time." ~ Father
Father's Progress
As the Additional User sleeping furthest away from the Primary User.
I still have sensitive nose, especially now having a running nose. Sensitive to temperature change, from warm to cold environment. Does not like dairy milk, but taking non-GMO organic soya milk in cereals, or coffee latte, or flat white.
No snoring
F: I sleep in the same room as child and wife felt I smell metal.
I get the odour, body smell of metal during the sleep time, at the end of the day.
M: I did not complain. Let it out. We are quite concerned of his liver.
If it is something that is really discharged from that or detox, it is really good.
It lasted for one night. On the subsequent day, I do not smell it any more. Maybe I get used to it already, so I do not feel anything.
