Child Case Study 14B
Autism. Chronic Constipation. Echolalia. Sleep Disorder.
"It is really weird that her constipation has really gone worse. It was really alarming. But then last week, her sleep improved. This is also weird. Her constipation got terrible. But sleep has gone better.
Then 1 week ago, is it really IT? Is it really happening? But then it was consistent - more than 7 hours. Continuous sleep - this never happened in her entire life!”

"Sleep has gone better."
Mother: To be honest, I felt that "this is not helping". It is really weird that her constipation has really gone worse. It was really alarming. But then last week, her sleep improved. This is also weird. Her constipation got terrible. But sleep has gone better. I was even skeptical. I hope this is not just a phase. Last night, even though she fell asleep after one and a half hour, she still slept through 9 hours and then she woke up around midday.
Consultant: It is ok. She will go through this roller coaster for a while longer. Be assured that this is the only way she can get rid of her autism spectrum disorder. Toxicity is what she's been working on for the past 3 months. For a 14 year old, it will take longer.

"Continuous sleep - this never happened in her entire life!"
Mother: What I have been seeing that very effective and successful stories were majority smaller kids. I was wondering is she too old for this. That's why I was getting depressed over the results. Because it's been 2 months, and we are not seeing much. I am tired - I am going back to office, and we have not fixed her sleep. I was worried.
